Tucker Masterson, President of the RBMC, Defiance Chapter, turned himself over to the enemy, hoping to save his daughter. He knew the moment he agreed things weren't going to go as planned. Beaten and broken, Tuck knew his life was coming to an end. He only had a few regrets. One—he would never get to meet his daughter. Two—he would never have the chance to tell his Club what he had found out, and three—he never took the chance of letting things go further with Katie. Now, he could only hope they were all safe.
Katie Dodge had two loves in her life, medicine and Tucker "Tuck” Masterson. She had finally achieved one goal, finishing her residency and becoming a doctor. Her other love would never happen. Tuck was gone, but the truth was he had been gone to her long before he had given himself up.
The RBMC wouldn't tell her what had happened, calling it "Club Business." A rule she was starting to resent. The bigger problem was she an outsider now due to choices Tuck had forced her to make. But fate has a way of making things happen, and Katie was going to make sure this time Tuck knew she wasn't the same scared, lonely woman. He would either accept her or not. This was their last chance before she let the dream die completely.

Chapter One
“Misty, get your ass over here, NOW!”
Misty heard Bender’s yell from down the hall and cringed. She’d been avoiding that room like the plague, enticing the Vulture members to more pleasurable tasks instead of what they were paying her for, well not exactly paying her, more like giving her a place to sleep and if they thought of it, some food every once in a while, but the perks were also pretty nice.
She didn’t really need them, she had a job, and it paid alright, but she would much rather use that money on more important things. Things that made her happy like clothes, shoes, and her “medicine”—if she was having a really good day, she didn’t even need to pay for that. Today happened to be a very good day. She and Stinger had been partying hard for, hell, she didn’t know how long now, at least a couple of days. Damn, that thought made her realize she needed to check in with her boss at the hospital. Misty had been on a three-day suspension but couldn’t remember when it ended.
When Stinger came into town, he always brought the good stuff, and she always got lost in glorious oblivion. Sitting up in the bed she was lying in, she pushed Stinger off her—the man had a tendency to cling, he was like a fucking octopus when he finally passed out. Looking down at the man, Misty wrinkled her nose. He wasn’t much to look at, he was one of those guys who managed to look greasy even freshly showered. Not that she had witnessed or remembered witnessing that momentous event this time around, but it didn’t matter, she had gotten what she wanted, right?
Throwing her legs over the side of the bed, Misty bent down to pick up some clothes off the floor to at least cover her body. Normally, she wouldn’t have given a shit—parading around in her birthday suit wasn’t anything new to her—but she was going to have to go into that room, and she wanted protection. She knew that would be the only reason Bender was calling her, he didn’t pay any attention to her otherwise. She started to wobble, then giggled; bending down wasn’t the smartest move after all. Bracing herself with one hand on the bed and the other on the makeshift nightstand, Misty shut her eyes, loving the lightheaded feeling she was getting from whatever Bender had given her last; bending down had amplified it.
The smile was wiped off her face seconds later when Bender screamed her name again. Damn, he sounded really pissed, but she wasn’t inclined to move any faster. Bender was always in a shitty mood and liked to talk with his fists, instead of his mouth. If he was already yelling, she knew damn well she was going to get hit, it was just a matter of time. Finally getting up, she managed to grab some clothes and put them on but wasn’t leaving the room without a little reinforcement. Finding Stinger’s jeans, she dug through the pockets until she found what she wanted. Normally, she would have just taken one pill and put the package back, hoping Stinger wouldn’t notice, but Misty figured what the hell and taking one out, she pocketed the rest.
Stinger had one rule, if she played his games—which meant she let him fuck her any way he wanted wherever he wanted—then she got what she wanted, drugs. He liked to party as much as she did, and normally it wasn’t a big deal. If he managed to get his dick up, she fucked him or quickly gave him a blow job. If he stayed soft, they just kept on partying—win-win for her. This time though, he had mixed the shit he had been popping with the little blue pill, so she had paid twice as much for the little packet now in her pocket. Her ass still hurt like a son of a bitch—none of these fuckers believed in lube.
Popping the pill, Misty figured it wouldn’t matter in a minute, anyway, nothing would. She choked that baby down dry, considered briefly grabbing the bottle of Jack on the nightstand but figured why bother—one step in that room and she would want to puke. Better to have only the lovely little pill in her stomach, less chance of her losing her high.
Misty walked out of the room and started walking toward the room she was sure Bender was. She looked around briefly but didn’t pay attention to anyone, she wasn’t in
the mood. Misty already knew what she would see, anyway, having been around for a while now. The building they were in used to be an office building or something. The outer walls had doors that led to offices the Vulture’s had turned into crashpads, storage, or ‘playrooms.’ She avoided the latter at all costs. Just thinking about some of the stuff these guys got into in those rooms made her shiver in disgust. The middle was an open space, filled with sofas, chairs, and tables where MC congregated. If she looked up, she knew she would see a minimum of ten members either sitting around, fucking, or partying it up. Most days, she joined the fun, but today, she had what she needed, for at least a couple of days, so they could just fuck themselves.
Misty had just gotten to the door she knew for a fact Bender was behind, leaning against it to steel herself for the next couple of seconds when it was yanked open roughly, and she almost fell on her ass.
“Get your ass in here,” Bender ordered through gritted teeth, yanking Misty by the hair and dragging her into the room. She gagged on reflex—it smelled so bad in there. She hated it, but Bender wasn’t letting her move.
In the past few weeks, she had spent so much time in that room that when she did get a second to leave, the stench clung to her like glue. It was getting to the point where she just wanted them to let the man die. The smell was only one of the reasons. The other reason—the man, lying in a pile of his own filth, had banished her. Dismissed her from his Club like she was nothing. He deserved what he was going through. If it weren’t for him, she wouldn’t even be in this place right now having to smell him, care for him and worst yet, deal with the Vultures.
The RBMC had treated her right, and all she had to do there was flash a little tit and give a few blow jobs. Some of the members even helped her out, giving her what she needed and a good fuck along the way but only when she wanted it. They might have been a little rough, but damn, they were all so hot, she hadn’t needed lube or anything else to get her in the mood. Not like the Vultures. These guys took what they wanted, regardless of how she felt about it. Stinger was one of the good ones, he at least gave Misty something in return. The Vultures viewed women as ass, plain and simple. The RBMC had been different, they cherished Puppets and Old Ladies, and Misty had been determined to become one of them, but Tuck put an end to that. She hated him for it.
Her hair was abruptly released, and Misty was pushed forward. She had to reach her hands out in front of herself so she wouldn’t land on Tuck.
“What the fuck have you been doing, Misty? We’ve been paying your ass to keep this fucker alive! He doesn’t look ALIVE to me!”
Misty scrambled to take Tuck's pulse—it was there but so weak as shit, at first, she couldn’t even find it. His skin had yellowed, and he was hot, meaning fever. She could also smell the urine and sweat that had pooled around his body on the sheets.
“Bender, he needs a doctor, I’m only an aide, not even a nurse.” Bender just kept on sneering at her, so she started talking really fast, hoping to either annoy him enough to leave or piss him off enough to do something, then leave. Yeah, Misty thought, leaving would be awesome, right about now. “Listen, I can clean him up and do some things, but the guys messed him up bad,” Misty pleaded, trying to step away from the bed.
Bender had other ideas, grabbing her hair again and pulling her up to him, spitting in her face while he talked, “You better figure something out, bitch, and fucking fast, or you won’t be leaving this room. He dies, your ass does too, understand?”
Shit! She hadn’t expected this. Tuck was already beating on hell’s door, already had been when they brought him there. She had been “volunteered” by one of the guys to take care of his ass because she was “a nurse or some shit,” his words, not hers. Misty had liked the attention she was getting from the guys, so she went with it. Now, it was all going to explode in her face. She needed to think of something quick. She should have expected the hit to her face—that was Bender’s go-to punishment for women, always the face. She could feel the sting on her lip and taste the warm, coppery blood on her tongue. She watched as his hand pulled back again to deliver another blow and blurted out, “I think I know someone who can help!” Thankfully that got his attention, and he loosened his grip a little dropping the hand that he was going to hit her with.
“Start talking.”
“There is a doctor at the hospital where I work,” Misty said when all Bender did was raise the eyebrow over his beady, evil, little eye, staring at her like she was dumb, and he was going to make her pay for it. Well shit, that had to of been the stupidest things she could have ever said. Shaking her head and licking her burning lip, she started over.
“No, I know there are a ton of doctors there, but she’s different. She just got done with her residency, and they’re throwing her a big going away party.”
“I don’t see how that helps either of us, Misty! Doctors have a tendency to be missed or watched. That’s why we had you do this shit,” Bender said with his lip curled, looking over at Tuck.
“That’s just it, Bender, she won’t be missed if you guys take her after the party. I heard her telling someone she was going on a trip or something,” Bender was already shaking his head and gearing up to deliver another blow. Misty started stammering, “By herself, and she would be gone for weeks. If you guys take her, no one will be looking, you’ll have time, and she can fix him,” Misty said pointing at Tuck.
“Give me her name and when this fucking party is.”
Misty filled Bender in on everything she could remember and hoped like hell it had really only been three days because if she was wrong, it was going to be her ass. It wasn’t like she could ask the man what day it was.
Bender released her and roughly pushed her back with his shoulder as he walked past, issuing orders on the way. “Get his ass cleaned up.” When he got to the door, he turned around and pointed at her. “You better hope this shit with the Doc works out because if it doesn’t, it’s going to be your ass, bitch!”
Misty dug into her pocket and pulled out another pill, she almost put her hand back in to pull the rest of them out—when the “Doctor” got here, and Bender found out who she really was, Misty was dead—might as well die a happy woman.
Chapter Two
Dr. Kathrine Dodge, DOCTOR Kathrine Dodge, Doctor Dodge, Doctor Katie Dodge… Katie kept on repeating the name over and over again, trying to let it sink in. She was a doctor. Her residency was complete, her test passed, and she was ready to start her new life. She even had several offers to be an ER Attending which was exciting, but she was still debating where she wanted to practice. One unwelcome person kept flashing in her brain every single time she thought she had come up with a plan, and she would change it. Not that he would ever care or know what she had been putting herself through, nope, that was all on her. Katie still had so many decisions left to make, the first one, how long did she have to stay at this damn party before she could leave.
She was raised by bikers, and although there was an extreme amount of respect that had to be shown, proper etiquette was not at the top of their to-do list. Katie had always felt out-of-place in situations like this. Give her a nice cookout with beer, barbeque, and loud music, and she could hang with the best of them. In heels, a conservative, uptight dress, perfectly coiffed hair, precisely applied make-up, and polite conversation, not so much.
That was one of the reasons she had decided to go into Emergency Medicine. She thrived on the fast-paced, adrenaline-filled atmosphere. She also liked the idea of not having to open a practice of her own or dealing with one specialty. In the ER you saw everything—gunshot wounds, heart attacks, general ailments, and everything else in between. It also gave her anonymity—she only had to deal with her patients in the short-term before handing them off to someone else. That didn’t mean she didn’t give her patients everything she had, and she made damn sure the doctors she handed them off to were the best of the best.
She had worked with some great people and even made severa
l friends, but none of them were in attendance for her celebration/going away party. Nope, she was standing in the executive cafeteria at the hospital with the heads of different departments and the Executive Administrative Staff, sipping dry, horrible wine and smiling every few seconds when another pompous ass decided to speak to her. The worst of whom was heading her way.
Dr. Daniel Fitzgerald was a good-looking man—tall, sandy blonde hair, piercing blue eyes. On the outside, he seemed like he had everything a person would want in a significant other—great job, prestigious family, and impeccable manners made the package even nicer. Then you got to know him and realized the outside package was just shiny paper. He was egotistical, judgmental, and entitled. Katie had made the mistake of going on one coffee date with him at the beginning of her residency, and the jerk decided that, for some reason, she was his. He treated her like a possession which was bad enough, but he also acted like she owed him in some way which Katie wasn’t standing for anymore. She had to keep things politically correct during her Residency, but now that she was done, she planned on letting him know exactly what she thought of him. He had a deep scowl on his face, so she knew he was irritated about something, probably the fact she had turned down his offer of a position at this hospital. No one went against Dr. Fitzgerald, or so he thought.
He walked up to her and got within inches of her face—another thing she hated about this man, he had no sense of boundaries.
“You never answered my proposal, Ms. Dodge,” he sneered.
Katie didn’t miss a beat, keeping that same fake smile on her face.
“That’s because I didn’t feel I needed to decline for the fifth time, Mr. Fitzgerald.” Yeah, she knew what she was doing by calling him mister instead of doctor, but turnabout was fair play as far as she was concerned. His complexion started to turn ruddy, and she knew she had hit her mark.
